ABOUT THE NEW SCT X-Calibrator Version 3
The X3 is the newest flasher from SCT. It was necessary for SCT to introduce this product to support future vehicles with new processor types. The X2 is no longer available but is still supported.
The Ultimate Custom Tuned Flasher. Comes with three custom VMP tunes for your Naturally Aspirated or Factory Supercharged vehicle*. With a custom tuned X-Cal V3 you will recieve the following benifits:

Improved Gas Mileage.
The Custom Tuned X-Calibrator V3 will work on any 96+ Ford Vehicle when ordered with VMP's custom tunes (also works on 94-95 3.8 Mustang).
We can adjust the tunes in many ways based on your needs and preferences. Need a tune to safely run nitrous? Have an aftermarket cam which is affecting your idle? Want better gas mileage? All of these can be corrected for with our custom tuning. With one of our mileage tunes gas engines typically gain 1-2 MPG and diesel engines typically gain 3-4 MPG.
Even stock vehicles can benefit from tuning...we are able to increase horsepower, torque, fuel mileage, and driveability on stock vehicles, you don't have to be modded to benefit from custom tuning.
Torque, Race, Performance, Mileage? what are they? At VMP we believe in producing custom tunes that have great all around characteristics. Our Performance tunes will improve part throttle power, response, low end torque, and top end power, all with no loss in fuel economy. With a gas mileage tune you can even seen an improvement in fuel economy and power. Our tunes do not sacrifice power at any RPM range or engine longevity. Our custom tunes have the low end benfits of a torque tune and the high RPM horsepower benefits of a race tune.
Improved gas mileage and fuel economy can be had with our custom tunes, simply select a gas mileage tune when picking the three custom tunes. Our performance tunes do not reduce economy, and our mileage tunes can increase it by at least 1-2MPG (sometimes 3-4MPG) in mixed city and highway driving conditions, with no loss in power at Wide Open Throttle.
Towing Tunes are available for trucks, simply select a towing tune when picking the three custom tunes. Our performane and gas mileage tunes are safe to tow with, but our towing specific tunes are designed to reduce transmission temps and keep the trans from shifting in and out of fourth gear while cruising on the highway.
If you make more modifications later on....we can email you an updated tune file. Many basic bolt-on modifications such as an UD crank pulley, dual exhaust or mufflers, and CAI kits (on 04' and older) Do-Not require a new tune. If you make a mod that requires a new tune, such as a CAI (on 05+), longtube headers or delete plates, an updated tune is no charge if the part is purchased from us. Mods like different tires, gears or a different temp. thermostat can be accounted for right on the tuner itself with on devicer adjustments.
Firewire Analog Input cable is used to connect external devices to the flasher for datalogging, such as a wideband, EGT, or boost sensor.
